Hello Monday League! Happy Friday! Congrats to our two finalist teams, Teal Me Like It Is 🩵 and PRISMATIK 🤍! Let's talk about finals on 11/17 -- 10 days away! First things first; it's going to be a slightly different than previous KaraOakland finals, in that it's more similar in structure to a normal league night, and also, will hopefully have a bit more fun and stakes for our runners-up (🩷💚💛). The voting will still be a head-to-head between the finalists, but every team participates in every round, like a normal night. Teal and Prismatik will be the last two in the rotation, but more on that in a second. First the theme! Like a normal league night, there's an overarching theme: finals week it's going to be *Renaissance Faire*! So bring your songs, about or by, knights, dragons, princesses, kings, (yas) queens -- and if you want to costume up, go for it (especially our runners-up!) The rounds (lightly inspired by Bake-Off) are as follows: Round 1: Signature It's a normal round! You've all done 18 of these already this season, you know the routine! All teams submit a song. Round 2: Technical This is where our runners-up provide a dynamic challenge for finals. For our three runners-up: Captains, get together with your teams and submit *three* songs, on theme, you'd like to sing. You _will_ be singing one of them. Please do this by *Friday*, this time next week; duplicate submissions on the app will work great, or DM me. For our finalists: As much as we can in advance (ie, hopefully by Friday), I will let you know what the other three teams have picked. Night of, it's a draft. You'll trade off picking one song selection from each of the VJs, Pitch Please, and Golden Pipes, in any order, but one from each team. Then, random chance will dictate which of those three drafted selections you'll be singing. You'll have the voting time and the other teams' songs to prepare. Runners-up, any one of your selected songs that aren't going to be done by the finalists is yours to sing! I'm going to be a little more picky about song submissions here, Rule of thumb is to keep it fun for everyone; while *I* might like to sing deep cuts from _Pippin_, that's probably not for everybody. 😂 This is also how rotation gets decided, as mentioned. As Teal Me Like It Is squeaked out first standing by just *two points*, they are given the option to be either (a) the first to draft a song for round 2 (perhaps stealing a favorite), or (b) to choose to go fourth or fifth in the rotation -- Prismatik will get the other benefit. Round 3: Showstopper Structurally, it's a normal round. All teams submit a song on theme. While this is Monday night and the "low-key" league, this is also your last league song of the year, so we're going *high-key and creative*! So, for as much effort as you care to put in, the gloves are off. Bring the creative energy and chaos! Props, choreo, costumes -- any size -- all fair game. This goes for all teams; have fun with it!
